About Me

Hi! My name is Cynthia Ramirez and I'm an illustrator, animator, and visual development artist. Although, I try to work in as many mediums as I can, in both traditional and digital formats.

I recently graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a Bachelor’s degree in Art and a minor in Theatre. While attending San Bernardino High School, I worked on the costuming and set crew for various theatrical productions. I have since worked on independent personal projects and as a volunteer visual development artist on a short film.

I’m interested in the power of visual storytelling and how a character's design can inform who they are and what sort of world they live in. As a queer Chicana, I aim to bring more representation to the world of entertainment. Many of my works draw from my personal experiences. They mostly revolve around themes of identity, self exploration, self expression, and seeking community. While they tended to be whimsical and lighthearted, some contained the bittersweetness of uncertainty.

Danica Macy and Another Doomsday

Haunted by an unnerving figure her entire life, Danica Macy Carmona finds out that a demon was mistakenly assigned as her guardian angel. She strikes a bargain with the demon to find her actual guardian angel and turn around her miserable life. But navigating the bureaucracy of heaven might have to wait, as Danica’s ability to see angels and demons bears responsibility.

This project was previously titled Glass Frogs Throw Stones.
